  • Scouting requires that you believe in a god to be a member or to be a scoutmaster. I wouldn't be a member of any organization that requires that you believe, or pretend to believe, in invisible, magical superfriends.

  • @ndrthrdr1 Well then, I guess Scouting is not an organization for you. You will need to find something else to join.

You know scout once scout forever

  • Scouting is a wonderful safe and fun program for youth. I am proud to be a part of it. Scouting promotes character, citizenship and fitness. Want to be a part of it? Just contact your local council for a troop, crew, ship or pack near you!! Leader for 16 years

  • @pranxter08 same story here bro I hated it cause it was really parent run and most of the parents were "hilicopter parents". and I never went camping or did much activities. then I was in the bsa that really changed my life. made eagle which really changed my life basically it made me as to who i am

  • @gamer4864 , you think it's discrimination too not let an atheist get his eagle well I'm 16 I'm catholic and it says in the boy scout oath that you take Witch this is why it is called an oath because you swear to it and it says " too do my duty too god and my country" and I'm very sure you have had yo recite that oath, all YOU are is an unfaithful boy scout of America.

  • You know, I'm fourteen, and it is for the first time in my life that I've ever felt discrimination! I wanted to join the boyscouts! I want to learn to do all of the things that they learn, and I want to make friends and whatnot! But I'm an atheist. I can't because of I'm an atheist...That hurts...

  • I am a first class scout, almost star, but unfortunately all my troops (i move around alot) have been complete failures. Either the adults aren't doing anything at all and make Scouts do everything without guidance, or when they do get involved, they only help a certain group, whther it be because of age or presumed intelligence. I hope that my troop will be better, and I can actually enjoy Scouting without any regrets during that time.

  • same i hated cub scouts. i couldn't quit it because my parents forced me. i'm grown up now and I LOVE the Boy Scouts. If I quit cub scouts i don't know what i"d be doing right now! :)

  • 1:20 the girl says boy scouts isnt church, school, or sports... shes right, its all of them lol. but the religious part isnt big in my troop, half the kids are pagans/wiccans, the other half are practically fundamentalist christians. the adults have more drama then the kids, its quite funny to watch. Cub scouting wasnt so big fro me, but the boy scout organization basically insured the survival of my sanity. Im getting my eagle next summer lol

  • Yea, I didn't much perfer Cub Scouts. Boy Scouts is less controlling.
