  • @gza2k7 Cheers! I might need all the luck i can get! :) Yea he's a tough bloke, hes got that edge that makes him fun to watch, very characterful if that makes sense.... Id always root for him in Hawaaii. He's proof that the olympics is just one race and theres more to life and triathlon....Yea murray got alot and Henman gotta even more when he was playing, the media forget that managers need to DEVELOP a team not just get instant wins,in tri terms its like taking 3 mins of your time instantly!

  • @percdann Well good luck in your race! It's funny because Macca is my favorite as well. He is very hard-nosed and inspiring. I love his attitude. He is no doubt, one of the best ever-- at any distance. He's won EVERYTHING, crazy. You name the race he's won it. Yeah now that I think of it, Andy Murray got TONS of pressure heaped on him last year. And yeah they start talking about sacking football coaches after a few bad games.

  • @gza2k7 Yea i might just check out the race then! Im racing the same day so might be a tri filled day! (like most of my good days!) Thats incredible going, yea i think rasmus henning is doing great too, but my fav one has to be macca! He completely turned his career around after missing sydney 2000 in his own town, he went on to win like 15races in a row! British media have a habit of overstressing their own talents, rugby and tennis and footballers take the brunt of it! Its nasty to see!

  • @gza2k7 I am indeed! :) Em yes i support them both and i have raced them both (technically, they came 1st and i came 100+ but i like to think it still counts!) Didnt know about their blogs? Where do you access them??

  • @percdann your channel says youre from ireland. do you follow Gavin Noble and Bryan Keane? They're funny, I like their blogs.

  • @percdann yeah its on their website, you can watch it for free or spend some money and get it in high-res with a highlight show. Potts was at the 2004 olympics, only 2 years after he started triathlon. Amazing huh? He was frustrated not making the team in 2008 so he turned to Ironman a couple months later and got 7th overall at Kona. Goes to show how good these ITU guys are even when they bump up in distance. Are the british media extra tough on their athletes?

  • @gza2k7 WOAH! Had no idea that potts was so good, well obviously hes an incredible swimmer but i didnt know he was so close to the olympics!! Was he on the 2004 tri team for olympics? Yea they certainly had some battle on the gold coast anyway! It was brilliant to watch...i like brownlee too though....hes a properly tough lad! Hes a british athlete though so hopefully the media there dont give him the same amount of trouble that they give alot of their others!

  • @gza2k7 Yea whitfield is very good too, docherty is an absolute beast on the end of a run...proper legend! Yea brownlee was better last year alright but gomez had had a tough year with injuries, that might be the same for ali brownlee with the injury though....Not sure were itll be on will it be on the website?

  • @percdann he is humble too. Pretty cool. I also really like Simon Whitfield. In the debate over Gomez vs. Brownlee, well. last year I'm pretty sure Brownlee proved he was better, but this year maybe Gomez will come back on him. I'm hoping he will. Brownlee is out with a stress fracture, that's a serious injury so Gomez probably has the upper hand already. They both are certainly worlds ahead of everyone else. You gonna watch the race Saturday?

  • @percdann Potts was a world class distance swimmer in college. He was a 6 time NCAA all american and he was on the US national swim team from 95-97. He finished fourth at the 96 olympic trials in the 400IM behind Tom Dolan and Eric Namesnik. Extremely good. Just barely missed the olympics in swimming. I really like gomez a lot, for those reasons you just said. I also am starting to like Brownlee, last year i was rooting for GOmez hard but now im starting to come around on Brownlee too.
