Some of you might think "why the hell is this the best cover?" Well, to me it is because the original song is one of my least favourite maiden songs, bu tthe guys from Dream theatre managed to totaly blow me away with this live performance. I dont like the singer's voice much, but the instrumental performance more than compensates for this, and (at least on this particular song) puts the otherwise fantastic maiden to shame. Enjoy!

  • Interesting experiment here... Gangland had that "jazz" feeling to it, the only thing to do was to express it, and Dream Theater do it great!

  • @CelticKatie

I would rather hear Eric Adams in Maiden or Priest actually. James works ok in DT but he would never fit in Maiden or Priest.

  • This is pretty jazzy. I like it.

  • Usually if I want to hear a band,I listen to that band. There are exceptional covers out there, but, this song takes "cover", to a different level! It not only shows respect and admiration to Iron Maiden, but it shows the broad, expansive talent of Dream Theater.

  • Lovely cover? Absolutely.

But the best Iron Maiden cover ever? Hell no, try Solace - Another Life

  • Personally LaBrie's vocals sound great here.

  • and total eclipse?

  • @Cynnicio Now , that is pure joy , huh ? 2 say what ever fuckin thing U want

  • Oh, and FTR, for the Labrie haters, you know he was the first choice replacement after Dickinson left Maiden. So I think the IM guys think he is an excellent singer and was capable of filling Dickinson's shoes. Had James decided to not stick with DT, he would have ben IM's singer instead of Blaze Bayley! As well, he was also considered for Rob Halford's replacement after leaving priest.....two VERY heavy hitter vocalists and he was considered for both of their replacements....Just sayin'....
