F/A-18F: Rhinos Rule!

Sunday at Dover AFB, the weather was clear and we were treated to an excellent F/A-18F demo put on by Lt. Blaine "Rock" Tompkins and Lt. Gary "Ringo" Buxton from VFA-106. The high speed passes at 1:35 and 4:55 are the best of the season.
Note: About a month later this aircraft was damaged during a tire blowout at NAS Pensacola.

i wasn't impressed either until I saw the super hornet in person. It so much different than the regular hornet.

I was in the "Super Hornet cant do anything" crowd before Oceana 2004 (too much blog reading by people who had never flown or seen one haha). But after seeing what it could do, I rapidly downed a cup of Rhino Kool-Aid and converted to its biggest fan.

I was the exact same way. Once you see what the Super Hornet can do with your own eyes you'll be converted on the spot. The Rhino is my favorite single ship tac demo, hands down. Yes, I even put it an edge over the Raptor.

I am absolutely enthralled by the F/A-18F's instantaneous turn rate capabilities and LOW speed HIGH AOA flight characteristics! This video captures that perfectly.Simply SUPERB demonstration and footage!

The Rhino is one of THE most impressive airshow demonstrators, it's performances are always mindblowing and captivating.

I'm not impressed by the FA18. I used to hate the F14 but now I miss it.
