This is a demonstration of swirled dichroic paperweight making, using my small electric furnace design. This small electric furnace is perfect for the hobby glassblower. It costs me approx $3/day in energy (@.10/kwh). The instructional dvd set demonstrates each stage in the design and construction of this energy-efficient furnace.

  • glory hole ..

    propane or electric

    very quiet ..?

really liked the no reheat ornaments .

these weights are pretty quick too...

  • Yes, the glory is electric, very quiet studio with electric furnace and glory... It is a prototype of a hybrid electric design with a small on-demand surface-mix burner, foot-pedal controlled. It's hard with an electric hole to get that hot spot for flaring vase lips, etc. The unit runs on 6kw so costs me $.12/hr to operate.
