The Vermont Youth Orchestra Association (VYOA) has enriched the lives of Vermonts youth for more than forty years. The organization has tripled in size since its inception, now serving 600 students each year from VT, NY and NH.
Today, the VYOA offers young musicians a wide array of opportunities: five different orchestral programs, two choruses, music camps, master classes, the Endangered Instruments Program, music theory, sectionals with the best educators in the state, and unique performance experiences.
Students with the highest level of performance skills make up the Vermont Youth Orchestra. The VYO rehearses weekly during the academic year and presents three major concerts annually at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Burlington, Vermont. Additionally, the VYO presents annual school tours and run-out concerts in rural towns and appears frequently at community events.
