Once upon a time magic was the most mystical of all the performing arts. Watching a true master perform was an experience that made memories to last a lifetime.

Today the true masters are almost all gone. Only a few remain.

Today we have "magicians" who resort to camera tricks, editing, and digital effects to create their illusions. Gone is the honor and the glory days of magic. Today, You Tube is filled with amateurs revealing secrets. Honor and respect for the art has vanished.

@hairmagic Magic is more then a trick. Amateurs who perform poorly and youtube can expose a trick. But the true magic is inside the performer. This cannot be bought or learned.

I was a personal friend of Dougs and wish he was here today he opened a lot of doors in the magic world and stayed true to the art he loved what he did and always had time for a fan in the words of Doug "Magic is a sense of wonder and if you live with a sense of wonder you lives will be filled with joy".If I learned one thing from Doug is that magic is something in your heart like love it should be shared around the world and should pass from one generation to the next and and hold it dear.

i always heard copperfield was amazing, but i could almost always figure out how he did the trick.. but doug's tricks i'm just blown away by them.

only if he was still with us today and performing great tricks like this one but i bet you guys 100000000000000000000000000000­000 dollars he is performing in the air and we cant see it but we all can see it if we all just believe and have a bunch of imagination we can see the true art and kindness that he used to brig us and some of us took him a granted but in respect after he died all thoes people who did take him for granted and are still alive miss him deeply R.I.P. It breaks my heart that people take this wonderful art of illusion and mystifying for granted.

You have to admit, the people that record dopey little tricks on their webcams are stupid and losers. NOBODY CARES
