  • For instance we make faces for a famous snowboard manufacturer. In this case the glue we use to adhere the fleece to the board is Type D4 Waterproof glue which requires heat. For the typical wood to wood application, a cold press glue is usually adequate. Inlay Product World, Inc.

  • rickyrosan is correct. Contact cement should not be used in the preparation of veneer sheets. There are numerous types of glue than can be used and the best one depends a lot on the substrate it will be adhered to as well as the environment in which it is used.

  • Contact cement in marquetry !!! Absolute nonsense. I have imported lots and lots of marquetry from the U.S, Italy and some from France. I have seen how they produce marquetry in America and Italy and their methods are much superior and more adapted to production. If you really want nice marquetry panels there is an italian company among others called arteintarsio. I have seen how they make them and believe me you would be very impressed by their methods. white glue and hide glue are used.

  • @smokinjoe1111

it would pretty much have to be,...Bob Morgan Co. veneers sells all the supplies for veneering as well as Constantines and they both recommend contact cement as glue,...glue flakes and a glue pot will work as well,..yet the pot is expensive, you may use white or yellow glue and let it dry and then iron it on,..same with hide glue,....using MDF as a base,..you may just as well use contact cement....old timey methods would opt for hide glue or flakes and hot glue pot,...for wood..

  • is veneer glue contact cement????

  • This was absolutely fascinating! Was this shop in China, Indonesia or the Phillipines? Thanks so much for teaching this to me!
