Must overtake mentality

This 'chap' starts hitting his horn at me as I have just passed the brow of a hill and I am overtaking another cyclists. I am in the primary road position because I didn't want anyone overtaking me at the brow (dangerous) and because I was overtaking. He then overtakes dangerously (see how close he gets to the oncoming bus) and later says I was at fault because I was in the middle of the road. Yes I was in the middle. That is where I chose to be for my safety I am sorry if I held you up. Oh wait I didn't hold you up at all as I passed you just 50m down the road. Muppet!

have read ur answer and cant see why u were in the primary road position for so long before the cyclist. i agree with ur theory but not ur practce of it

There are 4 good reasons to take primary here. Junction - best not to be at the edge here. Parked cars - look at one of my most recent videos on that subject. Pinch point - Always best to get in position in advance to avoid swerving etc, and the cyclist, whom I was about to overtake safely.

Can you refute any of these?

I totally agree .. you really need to relax .. as a motorcyclist I know what it is like to be at the mercy of larger vehicles .. however ..

You attitude stinks ..you were not at the brow of the hill when you overtook .. you simply were overtaking ..

The road user probably thought you were riding double file ( something which gets on Everyone's nerves )

Now... I'm not saying it applies to this video, but quite often I have seen cyclists holding up great queues of traffic... So should they too have to pull over if they hold up traffic?

@2wheelsteve I agree, sometimes a car honks at me and I realize I've been climbing and my concentration lapsed and I've taken the middle of the lane for a long time and someone behind me should just be allowed to drive on. Will they get stuck at a red ten seconds later? I guarantee it. But let them learn the lesson when she see me ride past them 10 seconds later, not by arguing about it.

Love this. stuck at reds but blame the bike. The ultimate was when a guy gave me the honk-and-floor-it to get around me while I was coasting to a red light. He drove his durango up the ass of a penske moving van and nailed some poor couple moving in from out of state. While waiting for police the guy goes on about how traffic has gotten so bad and they need to do something. "Yeah, they need to stop giving driver's licenses to assholes like you." The couple laughed.He stopped talking after that.
