This is a 1973 prototype of the soviet ak74..This rifle uses a large amount of parts borrowed from the akm..The 74 was later put into production using a 90 degree gasblock and they never fielded the underfolder on the 74..The trigger guard is unique in its shape and rivit pattern..It is a 2 rivit pattern ,one on each side like some of the chinese ak's.

  • What does a "one off front sight base" mean? Is that another way of staying 'front sight block'?

  • To be honest you look very awesome shooting the gun. :)

  • Have you ever seen an AK-46 or any of the Korobov experimental rifles (like the TKB-022 or the TKB-408)?

  • wooow !!!

  • That's really interesting and fairly rare. You could say the Romanian AK-74's are similar to the prototypes as they use a 90 degree gas block just like the prototype.

  • do you use a 7.62 reciver on it or do you have to buy a 5.45 reciver alot of ppl say you cant fit a 5.45 front trunnion on a 7.62 reciver

  • @taylorzack78 Umm selects the type of fire??

  • fucking awsome :D
