AAAA. 261934Z NOV 2010....By the time the warmth of a jacket was in force...`Once more dear friends into the cold night air of November` The rather large Appliance with a cradle to rescue...and not forgetting the other appliances from perhaps other Fire stations...Two police cars arrived and this northern end of the street was sealed off...and tape was in force on the pavement....By this time there was quite a collection of hose pipes attached to the fire hydrant[s] for the incident in the block of flats next door.....Stand by.......AR.

AR this was a four pump fire in a flat in Arthur Court. Originally called to an electrical fuseboard sparking, from the time of call to time of arrival the fire had taken hold in the hallway area of this ten roomed flat. No one was hurt, and the fire damage was limited to the room of origin, but smoke damage was extensive. The block was evacuated by the attending crews. I was in charge of the second of the first two appliances to arrive. Appliances attending included Paddington's pair plus Turn
