Timelapse photography of the 2010 Winter Olympics final fireworks over Vancouver's BC Place Stadium. Camera set to continuous shooting - 800 iso, f5.6, 1 second exposure. 1200 images taken for 20 minutes and assembled into a 40 second video at 30 frames per second.

Location:
Vancouver BC Place Stadium, February 28, 2010.

Equipment:
Canon 5D camera
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L lens
8GB compact flash card
Phottix TR-80 remote

Computer Software:
Linux Mint 8 OS
Terminal - BASH for image sorting.
ImageMagick - Image resizing, color correction, etc.
GIMP - Image resizing, color correction, etc.
Mencoder - JPG to AVI conversion.
OpenShot - Final video editing.

  • Nice job and you used OpenShot as well!

  • OpenShot is the best Linux video editor. And now they have added a "fade" transition in version 1.1, which I hope is similar to Windows Movie Maker "fade" transition, if so then I can use OpenShot 100% of the time.
