  • definately not easy for someone of my stature (5'9"), this keeper's head is at the crossbar...way easy to take freekicks and corners with that size.

  • @AndreasSchumacher

don't get discouraged, I'm your height and when I played, I was able to put my head at the bar as well. Just because your're smaller, doesn't mean that you can't elevate.

  • lol i had a bad habit in crosses as i dont catch it....i only tip it away from the height of my goal or just slap it to a teammate...XD

  • @AkmalTahir

your first priority should always be to try and catch. always. If you find yourself into a large crowd of people and can't reach the ball, cleanly, then look to punch the ball away with the closed fist, but never slap the ball away with the open hand.

  • hey i wished if u could video for basic positioning i.e. for being in right place fo shots from 30 to 50 yards means long shots

  • @AndreasSchumacher i agree that it can be hard for keepers like us who are short. although im taller than you (5'11) i still also find coming to claim high balls especially this year since it was my 1st year of senior football playing against older taller and stronger oponents. so i did wieghts, tried to improve my vericle jump and worked with tackle bahs to tuffen up. hope this helps:)

  • Well im only 4,6 and im 11 and i REALLY dont manage to get my head to the ball but i play in smaller nets

  • also when you bring the ball down after the initial catch you have to be careful cus if you do it with too much momentum then the ball will keep going down and you might hit yourself in the balls. trust me, it hurts.

  • @AndreasSchumacher I'm 5'6" and i can get my head to the bar a good exercise to gain more elevation or spring as i call it is to do bunny hops do some low ones and very low ones takes time and hurts like hell for a while but trust me it pays off

  • I'm really facing problems with crosses

    Thank you for the tips

  • thank you a lot for al your videos i so so sooo much better now!
