Vash,
Thanks for your comment. They just do not make the music liked they did in the 30's and 40's. My dad met my mom at a dance on January 1, 1944 for he was in the Navy. Engaged in February and married in April of 1944. Then came little "Iris" in 1945. It was war time, and people got married much faster than today.
So glad to celebrate theiir 50th anniversary when they were alive. My dad, Will Rosenberg, got up and sang to her "It Had to be You."

Vash47 - You are so welcome.
Iris
Up early listening to the great legend, Ms. Helen Forrest and thinking of my parents who played the great music of the big time era when I was just a tot.
So, one can say it was ingrained in me. Have a nice day.

One of the best versions of this song, and so sadly forgotten. Helen was simply superb.
She was truly the greatest. I remember my mom, Mimi Rosenberg, talking about her. Helen Forrest' mother lived on the same block that my my mom and her family lived on in D.C. When Helen came to town to visit her mom, the kids went wild to see her. Different times. Her mother was instrmental and believed in Helen to enter a singing contest.
I wonder how her son is doing and if he has any children now.
