  • @geekchicacz Hi, please send me a message if you are unsure what to do:

    1. From ESXi Host: remove the datastore if its listed and refresh Hardware and Shutdown

    2. From Sans Managemant on IBM. Access the Blade SANS management and remove all drives except for the primary boot

    3. Restart the ESX host and confirm the datastore is gone and shutback down

    4. From IBM Sans Management for the Blade add the sans storage again.

    5. Turn on the ESXi and add the drive.

    6. Contact me for more info

  • @Ikararua Hi - I realize this comment is 8 months old, but I"m wondering if you ever found a solution. WE have a similar issue and i'm pretty sure it has to do with having an MSA1500 raid controller which is not on the supported hardware list. Oddly enough, the issue did not occur on our test system which has the same setup. If you found anything that worked I would be grateful to know what it was.

  • I have a IBM Blade center where 2 hosts is using ESXi 4.0 and 1 was upgrade to ESXi 4.1

THey all conenct via SAns but we are haveing issues connecting to the existing datastore. Any Advice?

  • @DaRealHess The Datastore Browser works fine. I have been using it since 3.5 without any issues.

  • is up -and downloading files using the Datastore Browser now fully supported? I remember problems in the past when up or downloading, or moving bigger files using the Datastore browser caused sometimes data corruption when the process of moving the files had timed out or was interrupted. We therefore strongly advised our customers against using the Datastore Browser for copying, moving files and use WinSCP, or any other similar tool instead.
