@spike ... They are feather weight boxers! Tyson was a heavy weight so he carried a lot of power, that's why he knocked out a lot of boxers, heavy weight boxers try to knock people out fast because they don't have much stamina... Feather weight boxers carry a lot of speed and stamina, that's why you see them throw more punches plus this is amateur boxing they aren't going for the knock out they are just trying to score points.

This is common knowledge that regardless of age, you must wear headgear in the amateur ranks, once you turn 34 you cannot fight in the open class (more than ten amateur fights) . You must now compete in the master class and even in the master class you must still wear headgear. source of info: 10 years boxing

You do realize that the word 'amateur' has more than one meaning?

'Amateur' can be used pejoratively - to describe someone who has no skill (e.g. "this guy is a fucking amateur"). This is how you are interpreting the word.

But in sports, all it means is that you don't get paid. It's the opposite of 'professional' (professional meaning you get paid for what you do). Olympic athletes are highly skilled, but they don't get paid. Therefore by this definition, they are amateurs.
