  • @Kartkid024 I sort of agree with you on the interference call. I do think it was interference, but it wasn't very obvious, so I don't have a problem with the refs missing it. But Helm didn't just run into him. If you watch the replay (something the refs don't have the luxury of doing) you can see that Doan checked him and fell. That's the kind of thing that just happens and it's unfortunate, but there's nothing you can do about it. There's no excuse for the missed high sticking call though.

  • @Kartkid024 I said it was "one of" the worst (Brad May's disallowed goal was worse for example), which I think it is, especially taking into account the affect that it would have had (5-3 power play, etc). Also I realize that refs miss calls all the time, and that it's normal. But, when it happens right at the play and it's that obvious, you would think at least one of the FOUR officials looking right at what happened would see that it couldn't have been Filppula's stick.

  • @mcprogrammer

Well, I wouldn't say worst call (so many to choose from). But the ref thought a red wing stick caught him. Sucks they can't review it. Refs just missed it. It happens. As far as the interference, what I don't get is Helm ran into Doan and they both went down. Thats hard to call a interference against. I think it was the right call.

  • @macinnus02az Are you saying they made the right call? A 5-on-3 power play would have been huge for the Red Wings and would have given them a good chance to tie the game.

That was one of the the worst non-calls I've ever seen in the NHL. Lidstrom even complained about it, and I've never seen him complain about anything after a game before.

  • @macinnus02az lidstrom got high sticked, drew blood, they stopped the play in his favor, and didnt call it. i'm not making excuses. yotes are good. but all three goals were on a power play. 3rd goal after doan interferred with helm on the faceoff, knocking him to the ice, giving a clear shot on goal. but again, no goal was on even strength for the yotes. they played with grit, but we have experience. wings in 6.

  • wow, even their coach whines about calls. thats where the fans must get it from....wake up, you clowns had 6 powerplays!!!! there were missed calls both ways and some that shouldnt have even been called.
