Perfect Sunday morning for taking a B-25 up and over Toledo, Ohio. The Yankee Air Museum maintains the "Yankee Warrior," a B-25D, and one of only four remaining B-25s that saw combat in World War II. The "Yankee Warrior" flew 8 combat missions over Italy. The flight - taking off from Toledo Express Airport - was surprisingly smooth and ridiculously loud. Lorrie Krolik Cesarz, Kevin Cesarz and Becky Hiller McCluer crawled and shimmied into the nose gun and top turret gun positions. The landing was superb - just enough of a squeak when the wheels hit the pavement to let you know you had returned. The B-25 guest crew on Sunday was selected because of their help or connection to the previous day's Stage Door Canteen NW Ohio at the 180th Fighter Wing. Looking down at Waterville, Holland, Toledo, and at the University of Toledo's Glass Bowl. Bob Streight, a Marine who served on Iwo Jima, Saipan, and Okinawa, was on this flight. Carol Streight and George Pugh were also aboard.
