Lincoln Diaz-Balart has been called both one of the most influential and effective members of Congress, and one of the top Hispanic political figures in the United States.
Since being elected in 1992 to represent Florida's 21st District in the House of Representatives, Diaz-Balart has made his mark on immigration issues, foreign policy, and was central to the creation of the US Department of Homeland Security.
He watched Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular in Florida, and shared his thoughts on the show.
The former Miami lawyer who once provided free legal service to that city's poor residents had, above all, one clear topic in mind as he praised the show: Ethics.
[Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, US Congressman, Florida]:
"Its not only aesthetically extraordinary, but it is also ethically very uplifting. And its just an extraordinary, extraordinary performance. I feel very very privileged to be able to see it."
[Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, US Congressman, Florida]:
"Its very admirable. So its a very uplifting performance. I wish that everyone could see it because it really reflects the best, not only of China, but of humanity and its just a wonderful experience."
[Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, US Congressman, Florida]:
"Its eternal. And that no matter what the difficulties are in this life, the truth will prevail. The truth will prevail. And mankind cannot be destroyed. I was very moved by the song that talked about the damage that atheism has caused and is causing. It was very moving. But all of the performances were moving. Uplifting and they teach us about the eternal nature of mankind. And of how we have to be humble in the sense that evil will not prevail. And so the message is that the truth ultimately prevails. Anyways it is extraordinarily uplifting and I am so happy to be here."
[Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, US Congressman, Florida]:
"It is not only aesthetically extraordinary but it is important to remember the message. The ethical message. The message of the eternal nature of truth. So I will definitely do everything I can to recommend this performance and I am very happy to see that it is in other places in Florida as well."

"I was very moved by the song that talked about the damage that atheism has caused and is causing." Fuck you Lincoln. There was no call for this kind of hateful statement. What's this "damage" which atheism is causing? Let's look at just some of the damage of religion: Faith based terrorism. It wasn't atheists flying planes into buildings or doing suicide bombings. Reduction of knowledge: the religious right has been at war with science for decades, working to dumb down our kids.
