I just replaced the water pump on my 92 Cadillac Sedan DeVille but didn't have to remove as many parts. All I had to remove was the battery, the reservoir and took off the front passenger wheel.

im replacing my pump on a 92 deville, when removing the old one , all the bolts seemed to be pretty loose(snug at best) . do you know what they need to be torked to when i put the new one on? and what kind of sealant did you use? thanks

I'm attempting this job this weekend on my 93 DeVille. There really isn't much room to work with. I had difficulty removing the pump. Any tips on working with such little room? (Also heard you can remove the front tire for a little more access).

@trekalltop yes you can get to the bottom bolts easier the best way to flush the system is to drain the coolant, take out the thermostat .Then bolt back together and let water run through the system for about a half hour.with bottom hose disconnected. Then drain the system put new thermostat in and fill with coolant.
thats all I took off was pass wheel, battery and reservoir besides the belt and there was no door only a frame rail rite in front of the water pump..

I got your message this morning yes to remove the timing cover but if just doing the water pump it doesn't need to come make sure you don't take the bolts that don't go through the pump out they are for the timing belt cover then if you dont replace the timing belt case gasket it will leak.

no just took the belt out other than that i did take the wheel off to get to a couple of the bottom bolts.Of course you have to take the battery and coolant reservoir out but didn't have to take the crankshaft pulley off actually other than being in a tight spot it really wasn't that horrible.
