Frankie got up and slipped out of his room. Little did he know that his father got up early and was in the living room when he turned the front doorknob.
"Just where the Hell are you going?" Sir put down the paper and scolded his son. He got up and grabbed Frankie by the shirt.
"I-Im going to a football game with my friend..." Frankie breathed.
"OK, well you better be home by curfew... or things will happen..." Sir was standing so close to Frankie he could smell his horrid coffee/alcohol as he spoke.
"Sir..." Frankie turned his head to catch a breath. "Mom said I dont have a curfew today..." Frankie whispered.
Sir let go of Frankies shirt. Frankie hit his body against the door. "Fine you can go." Sir shooed him away and Frankie yanked on the door and slammed it shut.

"Hey, youre here!" Nick exclaimed.
"Dude we are gonna have a great time!!!" Frankie clenched.
"Come on in, we're just eating. You hungry?" Nick offered.
"Uh, sure," Frankie shrugged.
"Morning boys." Mrs. Carter greeted.
"Hi Mom, this is Frankie." Nick introduced Frankie to his mom and then took a seat.
"Hi its nice to meet you Mrs. Carter." Frankie shook Mrs. Carters soft warm hand.
"Nick you up- Oh, hi you must be Frankie..." Mr. Carter introduced.
"Yes I am. Its nice to meet you." Frankie greeted.
"Im looking forward to spending the day with my boy and his friend." Mr. Carter sat down across from Nick and Frankie laying his napkin in his lap.
"Here, I made French toast," Mrs. Carter placed a plate of toast between the boys and set out butter, syrup, and powdered sugar. "Would anyone like juice or milk?" Mrs. Carter asked.
"Milk." Frankie and Nick both requested.
"Here you go. You guys have fun today! Im going back to the bedroom, seeya when you get home..." Mrs. Carter kissed Nicks head, hugged her husband, and entered her bedroom, quietly shutting the door.
"Finnish up, we'd better get a move on the game starts at 11 and we have a long drive..." Mr. Carter instructed, getting up to put his dishes in the dishwasher.
"Why? An hour isnt that long..." Nick asked, stuffing his last bite into his mouth.
"Yes, but then theres traffic..."
"Oh..." Nick said oblivious to the obvious. He gathered both his and Frankies dishes, loaded them in the dishwasher, and pressed start.
"Come on lets go..." Nick grabbed his jacket off the couch and motioned for Frankie to follow him to the van.

"AND A TOUCHDOWN!!!!" The announcer yelped.
The crowd went wild.
"YEAH!!!!" Frankie yelled.
"YES!!! Go COWBOYS!!!!" Nick screeched high fiving both his father and Frankie.
"Yea this puts the Cowboys 11 points ahead... there's 10minutes left, they need to win!!! If they do, they go from 4 to 3 on the highest ranking teams in the country!!!" Nick shouted into Frankies ear.
"I KNOW!!!" Frankie shouted back.

By the end of the game, Frankie and Nick were exhausted and quite hoarse from all the screaming.
"Well was that fun?" Mr. Carter asked.
Frankie and Nick nodded.
"Wow, that was an awesome game! Are your ears still ringing?"
Frankie and Nick nodded again.
"Whats wrong? Lost your voice?"
They nodded once more.
"Come on," Mr. Carter put his arms around both Frankie and Nick and gave them nuggies. "You can rest in the car..."

"So how was the game?" Mrs. Carter asked as Mr. Carter and two half-awake boys walked through the door.
"It was great! We had amazing seats and the Cowboys won!" Mr. Carter whisper-shouted.
"Did you have fun Nicky?" Mrs. Carter asked hugging her boy as Nick drooped in her arms.
Nick sleepily nodded and let out a small cough.
"Theyre tired and they lost their voice..." Mr. Carter smiled, hanging up his coat.
"Frankie, would you like to stay over?" Mrs. Carter asked.
"That would be great Mrs. Carter, I dont have anything left in me..." Frankie meekly whispered. "May I use the phone, I'll call my mom..."
"Yes its right over there." Mrs. Carter pointed to the counter near the fridge. "Nick, why dont you go ahead upstairs, go to bed." Mrs. Carter nudged her son.
Nicks eyelids slowly opened as he jaggedly made his way upstairs to his room.
"My mom knows Im staying." Frankie interjected.
"OK, come upstairs, I'll get you set up." Mrs. Carter led Frankie into Nicks room. She pulled out a spare pillow, comforter, and sleeping bag and laid it next to Nicks bed. Nick was already fast asleep. Frankie kicked his shoes off and wriggled inside the fuzzy sleeping bag. Mrs. Carter blew a kiss to both boys and turned out the light. "Goodnight." Frankie was out faster than the light.
