CFFJAC's Commission to Recruit Women in the Fire Service

The CFFJAC's Commission to Recruit Women in the Fire Service is setting the standard for building a broader, more diverse fire service in California. Through the Commission, CFFJAC sponsors annual Firefighter Recruitment Fairs, held at the CPAT Testing Centers in Orange and Dublin.

I don't mind women in the fire service but I just found out that some at my school got to slide on the Cpat test that allows them to take FST classes. I thought that was bull shit. If they want to be treated fairly and earn their respect..... then don't take hand outs. I know these girls in the up coming class are going to have it ruff.

I don't give a crap if you male or female, gay or straight. If you can run through a burning building with 75lbs of gear, kick down a door, and carry out a 200 pound person, then that is all that matters. Oh, CPAT minimum standard is too lax. Minimum time should be 9 minutes.

In NE Ohio,you get 0%slack/ extra credit for being a minority or women on FDs.The PDs maybe.They encourage them to apply,but the few women who do cant pass the PAT most cities accept.Ive seen about 9 women take the tri-c test,1 passed.Ive seen 3 women take city specific PATs,none passed,therefore they do not proceed.thats why in NE ohio,most fulltime FDs still have no women.If a woman an pass the PATand every other portion of the test equally,im all for it.Remember,fires dont discriminate either

IDC wat ppl have to say bout femle firefighters they all deserve a chance as far as letting shit slide for them i dont agree with that if it is happening i think this counrtys outlook on its a mans world is slowly changing cause we have women that are involved ina lot more things now and im glad best of luck to our women out there seeking a firefighter career
