  • Who said you have to choose.

There is no best in music, that whole concept is childish.

  • @SuperAaronturner At the high level all of these bassists play at, you cannot say one is "better". I personally would take Victor Wooten over Claypool, but that does not diminish Claypool. You may like Claypools style and playing better. But at this high level of skill and playing and creativity that all these greats show, it is childish to claim one is the best. I am trying to listen to a lot of different styles and playing techniques on bass to increase my knowledge and also that of my son

  • @CoolKodiak :) should have read before commenting my mistake

  • id have to say les is one of if not my favorite bassist, but gosh people ur arguing over whos the 'best; n not one person mentions Pastorius? ........c'mon.....

  • so nobody likes funk cause not one person has mentioned Bootsy Collins. i think he kicks ass

  • @wesley1125 As well u should, hell bootsy collins does it y shouldnt u.

  • @SuperAaronturner a Mr. Geddy Lee is pretty bomb, buckethead on bass in gnarly, Vic the lunatic Wooten, Flea there all pretty damn good

  • He IS a tim burton film

  • @SuperAaronturner theres plenty just they all have there own thing going on look at tal wilkenfield , victor wooten, and hell in billy sheehan don't get wrong les is of the best and great innovator

  • les claypool is the best bass player ever, no one is higher name one

  • @CoolKodiak I still think Wooten is better, John Entwistle is alot better also. Les is highly overrated. Once again dont get me wrong I like all of Les's projects, Bucket of Bernie Brains blew my mind the first time I heard them.
