  • Nice car, and some great driving!

The 16v redblock is very similar to the YB in many ways...although arguably stronger and cheaper to tune. The YB is a victim of its own success - they're hard to find. Having said that, a 16v Volvo head is not easy to get either...and there's no suitable off the shelf exhaust manifold.

I suppose us Volvo guys are just a bit sensitive to the redblock being ignored. The latest craze is a SR20 in a 360. I respect what you've done, though...don't get me wrong!

  • any1 no wat hp dat car has

  • @effidrin ya suppose your right thats why cossies dominated the btcc for years until essentialy the rules were changed to outlaw them.. I never said ye were bad at mapping or building have been to gatebil show few times brilliant stuff.. no cossies blew up any time i was there come to think of it. What do you mean by "your kind of tuning" ? Its called having no money .. we,d all love 1200 bhp.. again this is Ireland only one decent sized track in whole country . At least its not a jap engine ?

  • I work in England now and then and seen youre type of tuning.

Have a look at Swedish and Norwegian tuned cars....

Theres so many Volvos and BMWs tuned over here.

Last time I went on a trackday a cossieengine blew up.

When we go out iceracing in the winter you seldom see a cossie manage racing for a day.

    About mapping an engine good

In my hometown theres been mapped Volvoengines 4cyl 400-1200hp and BMWs 6cyl 600-1350hp.

I believe we are extremely good at mapping engines.

  • @effidrin Dont know where you come from but you wont find a 16 valve volvo motor or a 6 cylinder in ireland let alone tuning bits and who told you cosworths are expensive and unreliable ??? 400 horsepower and 400 foot/pounds in that volvo with standard internals bar a set of forged wrc pistons un open'd for 4 years of drifting and track days they are a great stove when built and mapped properly. Big respect for volvo stoves but i,m a ford man and that yb will end up ... mabey in my transit !!!!

  • Still no answer wyy yuore using a cosworth engine instead of volvos redblock thats cheaper and withstand more power. Cosworth is extremely expensive and fragile. Here in my hometown a guy had a 800hp escort cossie and another guy had a 1100-1200hp volvo redblock 4cyl with volvos 16valve head. So if you want to drift in a reliable car tune the volvo engine and change gearbox. ??????

Good luck with what youre doin..

  • Why an expensive and fragile engine ?

  • sound use a big v6 but meh.,

  • why cosworth they should have used the 2.8liter redblock wich is about the same power if not more as stock

  • Aboy Tom!!
