I was at just about at all the Shows and Dances in the early days of Hanks around Coffeyville Ks. and Tulsa Okla. area , I was there so much Hank got to know me Then after I moved to Nashville I wrote a song that was told about a couple that fell in love when they met and danced at one of the dances in tulsa., For E.T. then his health got bad
and he couldnt record it,called (THE TULSA WALTZ)

I was Hurshul Clothier's first drummer in The Oklahoma Travelers (1953 to?), and a poor one I'm afraid, but we took second place to no one except Hank. It was a terrific honor to get to sit in with him. When I was playing, Jimmy Benjamin was his drummer.

Wonder why no one has posted "Hank Thompson Live at the Golden Nugget" or "The Rounders"?

I think that guitar on the first showing was a Heritage Golden Eagle. Although I preferred Merle, Joe Maphis, and Chet, I havd had more albums of Hank than any other artist,..but it's because they were more available in the Atlantic side. He sure had a real full band. Saw hm in person only twice, 1955 and 1969.

Now, tip your hats to the ladies boys, get on up there with a double one-hand spin and a dip.... now swing!

YES..Hank WAS the King of Western Swing!
My grandpa was Hank's best man at his wedding (and Hank returned the favor.)
I was showing him YouTube and we decided to do a search for his good friend, and came across this. Thanks for sharing the pictures and songs of Waco's favorite son!

I was born in 59'. I heard this stuff as a young fella. Thank goodness for recordings. Would have loved to cut the rug to this when it was current. Better late than never.
