Jennifer Giroux of OPSEU, speaking at a picket outside Liberal MP Bob Rae's constituency office in Toronto on March 26, 2010. Giroux was part of a solidarity tour to Colombia in August 2009 which met with over 30 groups in a period of three weeks. At the same time, Liberal MPs Bob Rae and Scott Brison were also in Colombia for three days. When they returned to Canada, they declared that free trade should be able to proceed with Colombia, despite overwhelming evidence of persistent and in some cases increasing displacement and human rights violations.
