The NPR piece on which this video drew its inspiration was released May 26; at that point in time, conservative estimates of the amount of oil spilled in the Gulf Coast placed the figure at 18 million gallons. Obviously, that number is a little higher now, but the point remains the same: $11.5 million is a miniscule fraction of $13 trillion -- less than one millionth of the total, in fact.

  • Yes, liberals, who like big government and big taxes should pony up to prove they really believe in higher taxes and more expensive government. I wouldn't ever give a dime, because it encourages the squanderers. The more they get the more they spend . . . . they are committed to deficit spending. I think many Leftists want to bankrupt us.
