Matti Taibbi has a new article in Rolling Stone that explains how both Democrats and Republicans would like to include a so-called 'tax holiday' in any budget deal so that corporations can repatriate their overseas profits in the United States without penalty (i.e. not pay taxes). The solution is simple. In Australia everybody pays taxes when the income is DERIVED (which means when it is earned) whether in Australia or overseas.

To only tax income when it is REPATRIATED is just another lurk thought up by corporations in America. I bet no other country in the world does this. Duh!!

You will also note that Fascist parties are exclusively filled with defectors from Conservative parties rather than defectors from right wing parties. There is not debate, no doubt in academia that Fascism is right wing, you will find no peer reviews source that says otherwise.

Just because they used public works programs in no way makes them socialist, that's absurd US boogeyman speak.

@kristofor12345 Again, that relies on typically US strawmen of what socialism is. Keynes didn't particularly mandate more control by government over the economy. He said the government should run surplus' and spend counter cyclical to the business cycle. No more government meddling than the rightwing Chicago schools monetarism.

Fascism came from Italian observations of imperialism. Mussolini from Roman antiquity used fascismo to describe his model for his ambitions for a 'modern Roman empire'

@CmdrTobs It comes from the same ideological movement. It is a similar solution to the same grievances that socialists have with lasseiz-fare capitalism. Similar in that it puts a lot of power in the state. A stateless society sounds closer to communism. Socialism is about a lot of taxes and government programs, thus the government gets a lot of power. In facism, the government has enormous power over the economy (much like keynesian economic theory).

That's only socialism by mere word play and wickerman argument. Socialism simply says 'workers should own the means of their production', it's an economic arrangement more than a political one. Karl Marx eventually said the ultimate goal of socialism would be a classless and STATELESS society.

Nazism, Fascism is no more Socialism that it is 'copernicanism' just because most of the Nazi party likely believed the earth revolved around the sun.
