The Jackson Lab scandal continues in Collier County-- and the socialist-style underpinning of the Jackson Lab "deal" is cause for concern...

In Part Five of the Collier County Board of Commissioners meeting on October 12, 2010 we hear Commissioner Donna Fiala marvel at the critter cages, gloves and assorted artifacts being manufactured for the Jackson Lab at their Bar Harbor, Maine "mutant mouse" facility.

So what!-- say the citizens of Collier County. How do critter cages, gloves and artifacts being manufactured for the Jackson Lab in Maine justify spending MILLIONS in public funding for bringing the Jackson Lab's non-profit, non-tax-paying facility to Ave Maria? And why are Collier County citizens being denied the right to vote on such a massive use of taxpayer dollars?

What real jobs and real benefits will the Jackson Lab bring to Collier County? So far, everything appears to be based on one speculation after another-- but no concrete facts.

Observe how Commissioner Frank Halas addresses the public in an almost scolding fashion, reminding them of what could happen if Collier County doesn't spend all this... apparently-- "free money"-- in order to bring the Jackson Lab to Ave Maria.

Ave Maria is a town in Eastern Collier County with a controversial "Special District" government. The town is the real estate venture between pizza tycoon- turned higher education experimentalist, Tom Monaghan, and Barron Collier Companies.

Many see the Jackson Lab "deal" as a real estate bail out of Tom Monaghan and Barron Collier's Ave Maria real estate venture.

In a public poll conducted by the Naples Daily News, 84% of responders gave a resounding NO, to any taxpayer money for the Jackson Lab "deal".

This video contains compelling arguments presented by Collier County citizens, who continue to stand firmly against the Jackson Lab proposal.
