This is an animated typography I created (using After Effects) for the song "How Great Thou Art" by the amazing band Becoming the Archetype.

  • this is def a new version of this song -- i've never heard a version quite like this before. Very different -- Can't say i love it yet, but, can't say i dislike it either. Just different. It's new to hear this old hymns come out in a metal form. I can understand all the words no problem -- does this group have any other hymns??

  • @sk8brdkd yeah i've never heard it done like this before. and no, this is the only cover of a hymn that BTA made. they have a lot of songs with fantastic lyrics though, i highly recommend checking out all the other songs on this album! ("Dichotomy")

  • I would pay for an album of hymns done like this one. Has to be my favorite metal song ever.

  • @Ruach34 God can and will use all music to reach to any generation, to say otherwise is to say that God is not all mighty and powerful, and shouldn't God's message be told in a way that is also mighty and powerful?!

  • @04Tarvos Then it goes into "ransom" which will freeze those goosebumps, then make them catch on fire.

  • @sk8brdkd Check out their song St Anne's Lullaby. That one will give you goose bumps from how soothing it is.

  • @thunderhayes Back to the future reference hehe, just got it dude!

  • @W103WWRW It's understood by many.

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

  • @W103WWRW I understand it just fine :)

  • Apostle Paul states that it is better to be understood than to have a lot of gibberish that is not understood.

  • I listen to Deicide and Vital Remains, which whom both are completely against Christianity, and I listen to Becoming the Archetype. I don't care what message the lyrics hold, that's not what it's all about for me. I prefer what sounds good, has soul and pure talent. All three bands I stated have them.
