There are two reasons why people drink chamomile tea aside from its flavor. Mark Blumenthal, founder and executive director of the American Botanical Council, says people also drink chamomile tea to soothe their stomachs, and it has been shown to be a very mild, safe, effective sleep aid. Modern clinical research suggests also shows chamomile extracts can help treat certain skin wounds and other kinds of skin problems, making it an herb that everybody would want to have in their kitchen.

  • @itsnotcoldenough and other than the actual tar that's in any kind of smoke, it's not harmful as far as I have read.

  • @itsnotcoldenough I like smoking chamomile. It makes you really really relaxed and sleepy. one bowl of chamomile smoked is way more effective than three or four cups of the tea.

  • Wow i did not expect this stuff to taste good at all. I put some agave nectar in and i like the flavor better than standard green or black tea. Its scrumdiddlyumptious

  • Smoking it isn't any worse for your lungs than a cigarette. I have anxiety and depression, and sometimes I smoke chamomile just to take the edge off things. It's definitely not a way to get high, it just mellows you out. Smells pretty nice too when its burnt. Although you'll get the same benefits just from drinking it.

  • @allogenes37 Thats not true, i believe it was rosemary leaves and colt-foot lessen asthma symptoms. Other than the smoke being bad for your lungs, does the herb itself have any harmful effects when smoked?

  • @ItsNotColdEnough Don't smoke chamomile tea. Inhaling any smoke into the lungs isn't a good idea.

  • I have a jar of some store bought chamomile but it has the stems and those heads on it, i have general anxiety disorder and sometimes can't sleep, drinking it doesn't really help. Marijuana does put me to bed, but when i don't have pot is it safe to smoke chamomile? Are the effects of smoking it stronger then drinking? Please reply.
