There is certainly a bit of "disruption" going on over at Techcrunch but it's not about next week's conference. The dispute is about the new venture fund that was announced last week called, CrunchFund, and has created problems for TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington, causing him to be fired from his own company.

Will this bring Techcrunch to a screeching halt?

Will TechCrunch writers go on strike or walk out?

I'm personally not a big fan of Arianna Huffington to begin with. Constantly micro analyzing the world of politics and publishing a new post every time someone farts (or holds it in) is not my kind of news.

MG Siegler, one of the main editors and writers at Techcrunch (also the owner of the following title, " Kick Ass Pool party coordinator" explained in a piece on his personal blog why the New York Times had it all wrong on the internal workings of TechCrunch:

  • Amazing reporter of Tech News and Beyond.

    She is an amzing Talent.

  • This girl is good at all

  • Happens all of the time. I worked for a small health tech company that was started in 1999 by a very smart tech visionary... he and 3 partners built the company to nationally viable within 10 years. After a M&A in 2008 he, and his three partners were let go... The company has since been bought and sold by two other large tech companies and 90% of us who were there in the beginning have also received the boot.

  • Tech Crunch has always seemed very biased. The way he went at Caterina Fake was really unprofessional and unmanly. but your right it is a lot of ego's. but he sold it off to AOL and most states are "at will"

  • @adriarichards You're not doing anything wrong. You're developing your own style which takes courage, work & experience. My intent was to give you background info & research advice because knowing this helps in understanding the story. It wasn't a criticism. The hard core tech audience already knows the background. They and big names in tech will come across your work and can tell in 30 seconds, the hobbyist from the potential pro. I want them to see you as the pro who knows her stuff, that's all :)

  • @testing4echo Thanks for the followup note! Hey, you're right. For every 10 comments I get thanking me for my videos, I get 1 comment on my channel telling me, "You're doing it wrong; you should do it this way". My goal with this video was not to do the same exact content coverage but rather to raise awareness of issues and events, providing reactions and commentary. It's also a new style for me to comment on current events.

Saw you avatar but also noticed you hadn't uploaded any videos. :/

  • @adriarichards Why, because I've written so much? :) I'm a girl too, I love tech and I'm interested in similar topics as you and I'm a writer. I was just giving you my two cents based on experience. From your response, it seems you may have taken my comments the wrong way. I apologize.

  • @testing4echo Feel free to do a video response whenever you're ready.
