Amy Cohen Efron challenges Sorenson Video Relay Service. Sorenson sent a 'video-mail' to my personal videophone pleading to inform FCC not to cut down the rates this evening. I am challenging you, Sorenson, to submit an actual cost breakdown how would the reduced FCC rates will affect your services. I want proof!

Sorenson initiated their FIRST video tele-marketing call to my home (among with other homes too) asking us to contact FCC not to cut the rates. That tactic was unacceptable. I have no problem using VRS. I don't understand that you call yourself as interpreter. You are interjecting your opinions what YOU think that Deaf people should behave, speak and do our daily lives.

Reconsider your profession or re-analyze your approach in that role.

How dare you to tell me what to say or not to say! Your comment implies that video-tele-marketing is 'okay' but Federal Communications Commission made a ruling that it is a wrong thing for the company to do so. Also, all of the money they spent on advertising and telling us to inform FCC not to cut rates, therefore I want to know how each VRS companies earn their reimbursement rate and where the money go.

Whoa Whoa... Sorenson had a lion's share of 82 percent of video relay services. I am not putting down Sorenson, and all I am asking for transparency. I wonder how many of the posters understand the content of this message... She is not complaining about sorenson, she is asking for specific information about how the fcc rate cut would affect sorenson's ability to thrive as a company. Sorenson sent out video sign mail to many if not all of its customers asking for support but did not tell their customers how the rate cut would impact sorenson... She specifically asks for hard data, numbers, etc backing up the claims of poverty.

I grew up and know how business work.My dad owns a business. Best thing about starting a business are start small to earn people's trust to grow. Sorsen set really big at first then they lose more and more comsters to other VRS. Im sure they are in a big debt bec theres no way they can have all those money to buy those equiments and give it out for free. they must got a big loan to get those eqiuments and pay workers. so my guess they are in a big Debt right now. thats why they freak out.

Wow, I learned something new. I didn't know those two companies you mentioned are supporting them financially. And I do agree with you about wanting to see their data analysis. I would like to see the money flow. How they are earning it and how they are spending it. I doubt they would give that out to people, but that most definitely is an excellent point!.

i am Deaf and living in Canada! i think americans are lucky to have vrs support.. we dont get it ... not yet.... the deaf communities all across Canada is fighting for us to have vrs here... for the Sorenson ... i agree with Amy.... Hard Facts to see!!! Sorenson donate lot of money just to make themselves look good and it s an tax write off!!! and for other people s comments about spoiled.. free vp 100/200... dont forget the deaf equipments are expensive... we pay lot of more money for them!
