The four videos in "Equal Rights 101" are produced by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) under grants from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the State Bar of California Labor & Employment Law Section. The purpose is to educate Californians about their right to be free from employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation under California's Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), Government Code section 12900 et seq. This video addresses sexual harassment and retaliation in the workplace. The DFEH is California's state civil rights agency, which enforces the FEHA, Unruh Civil Rights Act, Ralphs Civil Rights Act and Disabled Persons Act. Not too bad. I was prepared for something more pedantic, but this has a fairly easy-going feel to it and doesn't try to cover too much at one time. My only suggestion is that people should talk to their HR department first if they have questions, not a government agency. The HR folks are going to have a better understanding of the company's operations and policies than an agency does, and are much more likely to provide immediately useful advice.
