This 38 second movie was made by myself using NASA lander Phoenix images from near the Martian North pole as Summer ends and the weather begins to close in on the spacecraft. Water ice clouds and banks of water fog drift past the lander. In some shots you can watch shadows from clouds pass over the lander and then get bright again. The original movie can be found here http://www.vk3ukf.com/PhoenixEndOfSummer.mpg and the raw image data came from http://www.met.tamu.edu/mars/directory.html
We heard Phoenix detected snow, now see for yourself, the great difference in weather between where the MER rovers are and the Phoenix lander. The images were labeled and assembled using MER software being adapted for Phoenix use, google for MERDAT.
We have to go here, we do. These are the cloudiest days I have seen yet on Mars. The sky on mars here is pink, blue and cloudy.
