I was happy to see this done in a mall. The people who happened to be there were so benefited by having their consciousness purified & uplifted by hearing the holy music and seeing the sacred dance. Light & Love must be brought into dark places too. Thanks for posting the video!

Thanks for the reply. Are you in to sufism? Turkish Mevlevi dervishes are primarily exhibitionists/entertainers after Ataturk drove the movement underground, especially in Istanbul. But I understand genuine Lodges still thrive is Damascus and to a lesser extent in Konya. I saw the Whirling Dervishes of Konya live in Regents Park about 10 years ago....a truly moving experience.

tessietots: these are Islamic mystics who are following an order established by Rumis who lived in the 1300's (I think). As they turn they have a palm facing heaven (receiving God's blessings) and the other pointing downward (symbolizing Allah's distribution of His blessings to His creation)
