For most, the idea of extracting oil from algae may seem to be an unlikely scenario. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the oil that fuels our current petroleum addiction was once algae.
This seems very interesting. I am glad to see that Palos Verdes High School is actually trying to figure out how to help the environment, not like my school. My school doesn't even care about learning. Which makes me feel different when i go to school, because I actually want to learn. Keep up the good work you guys!
what about a pressing method for extracting oil from algae. Seems to me using hexane wouldn't be very efficient. What happens when the hexane runs out. Also the cost of hexane could affect the price of the finished product of the biofuels.
