Wish I'd been around back then! I'd have had the clothes the hair the lot! Still, gettin' some Cuban Heel boots for my birthday next week. Live the 60's dream!!!!!

No, this is the first real country rock band. This has nothing to do with R&B. Doug was a country player, even played pedal steel. Check out the tune Mendocino. Sound R&B? Think you are confused son.

Doug Sahm was a child prodigy. This guy had an open invitation to the Grand Ole Opry when he was a teenager. He released his first recording in 53. When did the Beatles come out? They were good, but if not for the likes of guys like Doug Sahm, the Everly Brothers and the Louvin Brothers, you might not have the Beatles. Sir Douglass was one of Dylans all time favorites. He never mentioned the Beatles. Rip Off??? I don't think so

Dude, learn the times of music becuase they were around BEFORE the Beatles came around.

This is R + B, plain and simple. Done by some mods. Check out Ray Charles.
