was gona get a x1 but i got a glory instead
-
downhill bikes are not for pedaling, they are for riding down a hill
-
.7 inches of travel.
if you plan on doing some dowhill get the X, but if your more of a xc'er go with the reign 1
i have the reign1 and i wish i had the extra travel all the time.
the 2009 giant reign1, the bike i ride, pedals like no other and can still handle the rougher stuff shy of DH.

Nice vid. I'm thinking about getting some of these forks for my trance X5 as I'd like a bit more travel up front and a good second hand pair is probably within my budget. The only problem is that they are heavier than my Recon 335's and I'm wanting to save weight not add it! Is it worth it? How much better are these forks compared to my solo air Recons? They're about 300 grams heavier.

@desy2478 i have never used recons, but these are very good froks, i have a downhill bike with boxxer world cups on now and these forks are very good in comparison. i don't know how much taller these are crown to axle, but if it is a lot then these will slacken the head angle which will be good for descending but not climbing, depends what you want to do with them, also how much are you looking to spend

Ok thanks. I have a freind who's got some of these so I'll try them out and see what I think. I have coil forks (Marzocchi Bombers) on my hard tail and they feel good. A lot of Trance X owners are saying that the bike is under forked and would benefit from something more like 140mm rather than the 120mm it has but like you say it depends on what u want. I love descending and I can drop my stem about an inch to help compensate. Budget is probly under £300.

@desy2478 ok these are 36 vanillas so 160mm
but yeh, the best thing would be to try them out as you said

I'm thinking of getting either a reign 1 or a reign X1, what would you advise and is there much difference

depends what sort of riding you are doing, if it is more aggresive riding the the x1 would be better but if more trail, then the reign 1 would probaly be better as it is lighter
