This is part 2 of my footage of this hurricane which passed barely 40 miles south of Key West as a strengthening Category 2 hurricane with sustained 100mph winds. One day later the storm had a minimal pressure of 895mb with 180mph sustained winds, becoming the 4th strongest Atlantic hurricane on record. In this video there is some special storm surge footage from Jim Leonard's place at Lower Matecumbe-Islamorada, storm surge flooding at Marathon Key and hurricane conditions in Key West near the International Airport. Peak wind gusts in this video were mainly in the 90-100mph range. This part includes the period of strongest winds with storm surge flooding in Key West.
