The Doris Duke Foundation's Center for Islamic has preserved the Collection of Islamic Art from various Islamic Country. This Collection is housed in the former oceanfront estate of heiress and philanthropist Doris Duke (1912-1993). Built between 1936 and 1938, this house reflects the architecture of Sub-Continental India, Iran, Morocco and Syria, and houses Duke's collection of more than 3,500 objects of Islamic art in this house also known as Sangri La. Saqib Ul Islam takes us to this beautiful house and talks to the program director Carol Khewhok of the foundation about the collection from all over the Islamic world presented here and about Doris Duek's interest in Islamic Art and Culture.
