Do you love God or religion? Marching to the beat of the Spirit is a far cry from marching to the beat of religion. Throw off the yoke of man and take the yoke of Jesus. It's an easy, light, and humble burden.

    Part 4

Historical writing add clarity. No, they are not inspired, but they are wide open windows into how the faith was believed and practiced.

Paul's letters only cover 35 years of time....the infancy stages of Christianity. The scriptures are not an encyclopedia that detail every doctrine that was articulated or any every practice.

The CC chose the NT based on the strict criteria all ready mentioned several times.

It has also been shared with you that the word Ekklesia was a Greco-Roman term.

It was used of assemblies it was used of cities that honored Caesar as divine, etc.

The power that is had when Christ said that he would establish His church was monumental.

Read "Christ and the Caesars" by Ethelbert Stauffer and "Jesus and Empire" by Richard Horsley.

Both Protestant publications. Both filled with primary sources!!

    Part 2

We have been over the Greek word Ekklesia so many times.

As Christians, we are the church, the body of Christ. That is 1 usage.

Here is what Paul stated said in 1 Tim 3:15 - "but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."

He is not using ekklesia as the whole body here, rather the authority and governing

  • @JesusNonEnviromental

So......everything that you posted about the CC is found in scripture??? The history that you present warped is found in scripture????

No, I am asking for the anti-Catholic sites that you visit.

I all ready called you out on one where you received your theory of Justin Martyr. Yet, Justin's writings refuted you

Come on, man...learn to be honest!

  • The Church is therefore holy, though having sinners in her midst, because she herself has no other life but the life of grace. If they live her life, her members are sanctified; if they move away from her life, they fall into sins and disorders that prevent the radiation of her sanctity. This is why she suffers and does penance for those offenses, of which she has the power to free her children through the blood of Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

  • Christ bestowed unity on his Church from the beginning. This unity, subsists in the Catholic Church as something she can never lose,.."Christ always gives his Church the gift of unity. This is why Jesus himself prayed at the hour of his Passion,.. for the unity of his disciples: "That they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be one in us, . .. so that the world may know that you have sent me."The desire to recover the unity is a call of the Holy Spirit. =CCC=

  • A Catholic believes the Church is God, A Christian believes the Church are people of God

A Catholic believes the Church is a governing body. A Christian believes the Church is an Assembly of believers.

A Catholic believes the Church is an Authority equal to Scripture, A Christian believes the Church is authenticated by Scripture

A Catholic believes the Church is a visible Priesthood and Pope, A Christian believes that we are all priests and Christ is our High Priest

  • The Catholic draws you to his Church, A Christian will draw you to Jesus Christ

The Catholic draws you to tradition, A Christian will draw you to Gods Word

The Catholic tells you the Church sanctifies you, A Christian will tell you the Holy Spirit

The Catholic tells you the Church is your Salvation. A Christian will tell you by Grace through Faith apart from works is your Salvation. One preaches works of the Church, One preaches the Grace of God

  • @For3nity Re: The Church and the CCC

    More, please.

  • United with Christ, the Church is sanctified by him; through him and with him she becomes sanctifying. "All the activities of the Church are directed, as toward their end, to the sanctification of men in Christ and the glorification of God."It is in the Church that "the fullness of the means of salvation" has been deposited. It is in her that "by the grace of God we acquire holiness.
