  • WTF is a Tuft Test?

  • It's a test to get an idea what the air is doing over the rear window and trunk at speed. Basically, all the little tufts just move in whatever direction the wind blows them. If you'll notice, many of the tufts on the back window and trunk are not being blown toward the back of the car. In fact, some of the tufts on the window are being blown back toward the FRONT. My goals with this test include testing the effects of Vortex Generators and to eventually make a lip spoiler work efficiently.

  • Umm... yeah. Definitely some weird looks from people while driving and while putting them all over the back of my car haha. This car is going to be a road-course car, so I'm just trying to get as much aero info as I can. I was also planning to install some Vortex generators (a la Evo) and test again to see if there was significant improvement in airflow over the back window.

  • A lot of people probably saw your car on the road with the blue tape all over and went "Wtf is that?!?" Haha, That's pretty cool, is there any certain reason you're testing aero here?
