OMG!! this is so sad....today's the first time i heard about this story an the part that really hurt me is when she said ''if i loved you, now i will love you more'' .....i wish i had a mother like her who would love me for i am.....rest in *peace Steven <3 ...love from England <3

The courage of this family is already producing fruits: Ricky Martin came out. The most well known Boricua in the world came out. Please Ms. Mercado stay in the frontlines, your effort reduces hate and increases pride and love.

For any mother who can sympathize her pain, teach your sons and daughters to be loving, while being secure of themselves, their identity and morals- teach them to tolerate others. Because no matter the orientation of their very own beings, they could be the victims of any act of hate and rage.
