F1 tests Imola March '94, Ayrton Senna greets the crowd

On 11th March 1994, just few weeks before his fatal race, Ayrton took part in a test session on the Imola racetrack. I never saw any professional video footage of this event. This amateur footage was taken with a VHS-C camera by my brother at the "Acque Minerali" corner. At the end of the clip, Ayrton is towed back to his box and greets the small crowd on the stands. Besides Ayrton, the drivers in the clip should be: Gerhard Berger's on Ferrari #28 (or is it Nicola Larini?), Pierluigi Martini on Minardi #23, Damon Hill on Williams #0, Gianni Morbidelli on Footwork #10

I corrected the description as it is very likely that Ferrari #28 was driven by Gerhard Berger, even though I still have some doubts as Nicola Larini was the test driver for Ferrary that year and his helmet was somewhat similar to Berger's

Excellent stuff.

Seeing Ayrton waving at the crowd in that famous yellow crash helmet, in that car at THAT circuit is quite spooky.

I think Senna would have realized that anyone who turns up to a test session is a real fan and not just the socialite types that over run the Grand Prix - and he appreciated genuine fans.

My dad showed me the Senna movie this sunmer...and now i can get tears in my eyes and even cry when i see some tributes and his crash at imola..im born 30 November 1994.. And im like Senna, very emotional
