Great info Adam! I went through this crap with my bike, ended up getting that reg/rec and solved my issue, I just got lucky though. :)

Honda cb 750 dohc (dual over head cam) charging system is different.usally on these dohc systems it the rotor..it goes open shorted when hot... they are availble!! i just googled "cb 750 dohc charging sysyem rotor" and clicked images..and easily found a new one around $120...i just installed a new one on a customers bike and it solved all the problems.test rotor hot & cold...then buy a new one..also buy the rotor puller,,its cheep.
