Some are wondering where are the men!Let me help you out.In this particular region region of senegal Tambacounda, Casamance , guinée bisseau(Gabou) and Gambia, the Mandinka men prefer listening to Kora(string) , than dancing to Djembe in wedings or naming ceremonies.Men do dance but its most of time for Jambadong, or jomboyo, thats the initiation of manhood.Mostly in weding men do the legal rituals and women and young people do the party.ITS ALL ABOUT ETHICS

@cdcsamira You are talking about Wolod Sabar dance. This is happening in Southern Senegal , TAMBACOUNDA, and 75% OF the people IN THIS PARTICULAR REGION OF SENEGAL are mandinka , malinké,and bambara, same people as the mandinka in the gambia , and also a part of Guiné beasseau and Conakry.Thats why they share the same intruments, Djembe ,Kora etc .Remember its not about nations , but its all about ethnic groups. If you know west africa , then you know what i mean!

@wakold You are so right! People in places like these still know what life is about. They haven't lost their orientation like the socalled developed.

vive la espanol !
senegal and other african countries looks very nice, people there still didnt lose their smile, their vivacity, and they still know how to enjoy life... people are always together, what a great thing. I currently live in Australia and here everything is so gloomy, people look so lonely and sad, even tho they all have a lot of money, cars, and so on..
ahh well!

This isn't sabar, it's djembe. this dance originates from a Mali tribe, it's not traditionally Senegalese, and anyhow we have remember that Africa is really tribal, it' the Europeans that came over and split the land into their own territories.
