If they are not too old, or heat treated, this should work with any bean. However, you won't know until you try. Best thing is to buy your beans in a good health food store where they can tell you which ones will sprout.

I need to add that large legumes (e.g chickpeas and kidney beans) should NOT be eaten without cooking - even when they are sprouted. They are difficult to digest and can cause severe discomfort.

    Warm wishes

    Roger

@wildhealth how long do the sprouts keep? And can you resprout the same beans? What other kinds of beans sprout? Just asking in case we all get down to our last supply in times of famine. Sorry for all the questions but Im totally ignorant to these natural processes. im trying to store food but trying to educate myself on these tricks they can help in the long run. anyway thanks for the info you have already provided. You are helping more than you know.

Once you have the sprouted beans in the fridge they'll keep one to two weeks. If you wanted to resprout you'dhave to grow the beansprout into a plant (in the garden) and harvest the beans from pods! As for other beans to sprout:

Our favourites are lentils, adzuki beans, mung beans. sunflower seeds. You might also try other beans (and some grains and seeds) such as buckwheat, wheat, quinoa, broccoli seeds, radish, alfalfa and fenugreek

Great video! I'm a little sad about some of the comments for the video though. We should be better to each other.

I'm far from rich. I have no money because I live in a shitty country where people wont hire college students. And you're a complete moron if you cant grow an actual bean plant, you deserve to starve. I thought I had conspiracy paranoia, but damn.
