  • From Merle Hazard, to listeners in Greece: I am a very sincere admirer of the Greek nation. I envy the richness of your cultural tradition, and am an admirer of Plato, Aristotle, Euclid, Pythagoras and, especially now, Aristophanes. My song about the Greek debt issue is directed only at financial matters. It is not directed at the people or culture of Greece or Crete. Everything in the song, and the introduction, is a satire; do not take at face value. Click first blue link above for more.

  • Special message from Merle Hazard to the Greek audience.

  • I have a better solution instead of selling islands. Why all countries doesn't give money to Greece because you are constantly using our history, our philosophers, our theater etc. to make money? Why you didn't make a song with this kind of lyrics but you tried to be sarcastic and present this nasty video under Mr. G. Papandreou speech? Just because you'll never reach to our high level, because you feel and are very small, because you have nothing to present except wars in the name of money...

  • Can you please sing something about the BP oil spill and the environmental destruction. Thanks.

  • Not funny!

  • Unfortunately, I just discovered that even well written, polite posts get turned down so long as they contain negative criticism... That's the American freedom of the press for you.

  • Indeed a very beautiful copy of the Parthenon monument you have there in Tennesse(with the fantastic statue of Athena goddess!!)

The song is a sarcastic one that illustrates the present economic situation in Greece BUT i would loved it if there wants in the lyrics this thing about the selling of Crete.....thats what we Greeks dont like it because our land in Greece has always been in dispute with the neighboring "poor" countries.

  • Ok....

I Saw Quite Some Bad Comments From This Song...

    But I Liked It....

However I Believe That The Only Reason SOME Greeks Got Furious Was The Fact That They Felt Like The Song Was Directed At Them,As For The Comment That Said Something About Life Threats,We Would Rather To Publicly Kill Our Prime Minister...By Hitting Him Repeatedly With A Spoon. ^_^

  • Hello there.. Have you ever heard about America's dept over China...?

It may sound weird to you but Greece has the smalest dept from the countries of the Europian union... Maybe your satire should read a bit more and write a new song about you, China and England... No offence...

  • Greeks love "σατυρα" and we always smile in front of difficult situations. The greek spirit has been denatured by many wars in the past, people changed after lack of freedom and food. Philosophy and Ethics stopped being important to most of us. I blame Christianism :P

If we ever reach the bottom of the bottom, I'll still be a proud Greek!

  • not so bad ...but why havent you used your own music?CRETE island is a part of Greece and we can sell it to those who want to buy it, if they give us the NORTH AMERICA and North Europe......I THINK ITS FAIR.... you see CRETE is one of Greece's jewels....

  • Greeks have a great sense of humour, after all aristophanes, father of comedy, was greek. So well done on that song, and well done on being sarcastic about modern greeks and respectful about ancient greeks. We deserve that.
