Spent Sunday morning in the lovely and quiet neighborhood of the Menil Collection. I am beginning to appreciate Surrealism, especially the works of Rene Magritte. I especially liked one of his paintings with the title "Dominion of Light", which hangs in the wall opposite the Golconda. Coincidentally, the Golconda is the cover of one of the texbooks I used when I was in grad school.

This museum is smaller than the Museum of Fine Arts, but I liked the neighborhood of the Menil better. It is located in a residential area, with several chapels within walking distance: Rothko, Bryzantine Fresco, and St. Basil at the University of St. Thomas. Plus, admission to the Menil is free.
